Birthplace:  Paducah, Kentucky, USA, Earth
Current Hometoen:  The City-State of Vintanos
Age:  20s
Known relatives:  Unknown Father, deceased; Elizabath Krockett, Biological Mother,  deceased.
Micro-Resume:  BS Degree in Agriculture from Perdue University, Black Belt in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu from the Gracie Academy.
Marvel-Style Power Grid  [[http://www.marvel.com/universe/OHOTMU:Power_Grids]]  :  Intelligence: 4 (Gifted); Strength: 3 (Peak Human); Speed:  2 (Normal); Durability:  2 (Normal); Energy Projection: 1 (None); Fighting Ability: 5 (Master of One Form)
Physical attributes:  Looks like a slender version of Shred [[http://shonuff44.deviantart.com/]] with bangs over his eyes.  His right sholder is Mechanized (Roboticization under another term) to be a connector to a metallic robotic arm.  Usually dresses casualy, with some insignia of his birth country somewhere on him.  This usually appears as the American flag as a belt buckle or sholder patch, or a badge with the Captain America Shield design.

Background:
Born to a widow (His father died in an accident--presumably--between conception and birth) owner of a farm, Eric grew up with a desire to pick up the farm from his single parent, and started assisting in the farm in an early age, making sure that the dozen or so employees hired there were well off as well as doing his own choice chores out and about.  His mother insisted that he get an education while he was still young, and after a bout of being unchallenged in grammer school eventually rose to Honor Roll levels by High School.  Along the way, Eric discovered Jiu-Jitsu from a seminar presented by the Gracie Family and took up the sport in his teens.  He even travelled to Rio de Janeiro on some summers to train from the Gracies themselves.  He gained his Black Belt during college and he was being considered to be a part of UFC's The Untimate Fighter when tragedy struck.
Shortly before he was about to make his decision, a tornado ravaged the area, attacking the farm with full F5 force.  The farm was struck without ample warning and was completely destroyed.  Eric was the sole survivor, but he had lost his arm when the remains of the house fell on top of him, and was left in a coma.
Some time afterward, as Barack Obama was President-Elect, King Acorn Knothole was discovered after a rift in space.  Both George W Bush and Barack Ombama kept this discovery quiet from the general public, and in 2009, a combination of procedures, including an experimental process of 'Mechanization' to replace Eric's left arm, and an lycanthropic super soldier-type serum, transformed Eric Krockett into a cyborg anthro wolf; and woke him up from his stupor in the process.
Eric was sent to King Acorn's home planet of Maatla by a stargate constructed by various sources but finally made operational by King Acorn's knowledge, to deliver a message and 'proof of life' from the King to his kingdom of Vintanos, and expecially to his sole daughter, Princess Sarah Knothole.  After he delivered the message, he was invited to stay in the City-state with the hopes that he could make a new life for himself in their world.

Strengths:
{{ALL-AMERICAN}}  While Eric Krockett would not claim to be like Steve "Captain America" Rogers in any sense; not only is there a generation gap, Eric wouldn't be caught dead in spandex.  And the serum Eric got didn't argument his physical attributes as much as it gave him the physiological attributes of a wolf.  But Eric was raised to uphold the same values and beliefs as the comic book character, and later on will write a modified version of Glenn Beck's "Nine Principles" for a publication.  And with a probe sent to Maatla earlier that contains an archive on where the King is found, including the United States Constitution, the Declaration of Independence (and a Captain America comic book!), Eric thinks that he might be able to recreate an America-like country on Maatla, only without the pitfalls and shameful chapters that plagued the original even today.

{{GRACIE JIU JITSU  [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brazilian_Jiu-Jitsu]] }}  Eric shows almost no rust in his Jiu-Jitsu skills, and it becomes invaluable when it combats Mechanoids, Maatlan's answer to Robians.  Mechanoids have a safety shutdown feature where they go into a Sleep-like mode so that they can focus their remaining processing power and energies on either self-repair or to contact outside assistance.  Usually this state is triggered by taking considerable damange, but Eric found out that he can trigger this state with a submission hold.  This fighting style is also useful against organic adversaries, sometimes causing the entire fight to stop as Eric is shown not punching or kicking as normal, but taking his victims to the ground and subduing them with an armbar or choke.
Also important to note is the friendly and instructional sparring and 'challenges' where Eric pits his Jiu-Jitsu against a Maatlan Martial Arts expert; a Gracie Tradition.  There might be a Maatlan version of the UFC in the future.

{{GOOD NATURE}}  While It might take a while for Eric to get to know someone, he does keep a friendly and live and let live nature around him.  He's the kind of wolf you want to have a beer with or as a partner in Mechanoid busting.  He's an honest person who wants to keep in friendly terms with the folks at his guest planet.  And in time the desizens of Vintanos would know this Visitor as quite likable.  Even when he swears, he'll self-censor with 'Radio Edit' whenever that's needed.

Weaknesses:
{{STRANGER IN A STRANGE WORLD}}  As Eric himself would say, "I always thought that Aliens talking to people from my planet as somewhat awkward.  Now I find it double awkward and _I'm_ the Alien."  He might find the idea of himself being E.T. a source of chuckles, but he knows that there is a culture gap between himself and all of Maatla; and while he does what he can to bridge this gap, there will be many awkward moments where he feels that he's acting like "A Village Idiot."  Because of this, he usually fades into the background at first.  Listening in on others and studying them from a distance.  While this may make him look aloof at times, he's not afraid to break the ice, and the bread, with anyone who approaches him.
There are plenty of Maatlans and citizens of Vintanos who are as curious about Eric, his world, and his country, as he is of them.  Because of this, one of his first deeds in Vintanos is to set up a magazine where he describes and duscusses matters with the public.

{{STRONG WILL AND CONFRONTATIONAL}}  When Eric believes in something, he will let you know it.  And if he sees something that's wrong, especially when others are in agreement, he'll want to see it righted regardless of the circumstances.
When he puts his foot down on something, he's rather unmovable, and will strongly defend his believs from all comers.  This will be the souce of many a confrontation form dissenting parties, such as the Templar-like Royal Guard.  While he prefers debate and allowing the general public to come up with their own opinions, he doesn't brook someone who is heavy handed, either in word or in deed, and he's not afraid of clashing with anyone, at times even to blows.

{{GERMAPHOBIC}}  He's known to have few strict rules, but personal higeine is near the top.  He almost constantly keeps himself clean, taking fequents baths and using hand sanitizer.  The practicallity of this practice, which will seem odd to some people, is understood when he talks of diseases.  He needs to make sure that his immune system catches up with the germs on Maatla, and the best way to make sure that he is not overloaded with Maatlan bacteria and viruses is to keep himself clean.
He first mentions it during a time when he gets a slight cold, while he gets some medicine from a church healer.  They realize that they're talking about the same thing from two points of view; the healer believes that Gaia uses these minor illness to strenthen a person's spirit, while Eric believes that what he's talking about is how she does it.

{{CASUAL DRINKER}}  While he's no alcaholic, and he usually keeps himself from getting overly drunk, he does like the taste of beer, and finds the most adventures on Maatla touring the bars and taverns tasting local microbrews.  He'll even go on wine and liquor tasting parties.  The most he'll drink would be about two to three long necks max, sometimes less, especially when there's minors around.

Relationship Matrix:

Eric with Sarah:
Eric could never thank the Princess enough for allowing her to stay with her in her castle.  It made for a great home base for him to learn up on Maatlan life.  He had to admit that she looked quite attractive, and it isn't too hard for him to notice her coming on to him.  But being a gentleman, if not properly cultured, for him to take her up and just elope with her.  There's also the class gap, which although he's an apt pupil in learning, he does feel like a fish out of water.
Most of the dates they have are in private at first, with intimate dinners, listening to music (sometimes from the iPod) snuggling, and of course the times she needs to cry on Eric's shoulder.  In time it grew to Sarah hanging off of Eric's shoulder in public outings.  Eventually, he decides to just go, "Ah, to hell with it," and decides that he might as well state his love for the princess.
At first it was resisted by some, especially that asshole Captain Nicolas, because he was lower class.  But Eric's position as an American Ambassador does account for something, and there's Sarah's claim that she can date--and wed--anything she damn well wants.  But if worst comes to worst, he could always drag the offending jerk outside to show them who's the Alpha Male in the castle.
And by the time King Acorn does return to Maatla--SPOILER ALERT!!--he recognizes Eric and Sarah's relationship and blesses the coming wedding, in fact giving Eric the opprotunity to be the Prince in advance.  By this time the public will approve and cheer, but not everyone will be celebrating.

Author's Comments

I've gotten a lot of feedback on my Blood and Metal project and even offers to do some work, so I decided to open up the BAM section of my account early and start with the Character Sheet of Eric Krockett.

Since everything's still in it's formation stage, although some parts are more gelled in place than others, I'll be listening in on feedback and suggestions (and the necessary spell checker). All I ask is that you be civil in responding. As Eric would want to say, "Don't be an @$$hole."

Also, make sure you get all the comments read before stating your case. there's a good change it would already been mentioned and addressed, but haven't been put into the text file yet. It happens that way at times.

MOST RECENT EDIT:

Changed the Graphic to go with it. Line Art is by :iconzeiram0034: , Colored by myself, and will be part of the web site.

PREVIOUS EDITS:

Added the start of what I'll call the 'Relationship Matrix,' where all the connections between all the characters are described. Something tells me I should get that Wiki started.

Some crits:

I gotta tell you, that 'generational racism' thing makes no sense; no court on American soil would even accept that something that absurd, nor would they put the guy in court because he protected a child in a gang shootout. If you really wish to leave behind the image of your stuff having an undertone of racism... just drop that part altogether. You could, let's say, have it that he lost an arm in the gang shooting and that the child he was trying to protect died despite his efforts... that'd be enough to put someone into a catatonic depression. You really shouldn't use that whole race-related thing.

Also, 'Casual Drinker' isn't a weakness, it just means he drinks beer. Now if he were a raging alcoholic, then yes, that's a weakness.
:icondaveykinsfoxfire:
Hmmm. You weren't the only part about the racism part. And just now I have an alternative about the whole thing that could help immensively: An act of extreme weather, such as a tornado, perhaps.

As for the Alcahol. It might not be a weakness, but it can be an opprotunity to be such.

other then a few minor spelling errors that even i proboly would of made i rather like it.

Coming from me, it's kinda expected. Feel free to let me know where they are in a Note, and I'll correct them.

I concur, I think the whole race issue is something you should just drop, it's part of the past you would be better off shedding.

I must admit that I was with you until the bit about the spatial rift. It seems like an incomplete thought; there was a rift in the spatial continuum, the government hid it... Eric is made a cyborg wolf supersoldier?

There's a chunk of information missing here that results in the cause-and-effect not working together. You should probably answer the questions that come up as a result. For instance: the mechanization process is mentioned in the same sentence as the government cover-up, so I'm assuming that it's related to government experimentation; ditto the supersoldier serum. Why is Eric Krockett, ostensibly just a man who was stricken by tragedy, chosen as a test subject for these processes?

Overall, though, this is not a bad showing for a sheet. I object to martial arts training on principal, most of the time, but here at the least it seems you took into account that you cannot be a black belt without years of study and work, and gave him time to do so.

Ah, one final question. The time between him slipping into a coma and being resuscitated as a cyborg-wolf; how long, approximately, is it between the two?

The Mechanization, the portal, and the Wolf serum's three different project, and the first one was less secretive than the other two. I'll be able to set up a separate page on each on the Wiki I have on the BAM web site [link] . While some of them were purely plot contrivances that get out of the way for the main story, if you have any ideas on how I can better explain them, let me know. I'll give you the credit over the haggling.

As for Eric, who spent about 15 months in that coma--although I can easily shorten it before publishing the book properly--he was probably picked up by the King after reading about him on/hearing about him in the news.

Ah, yeah. I can certainly buy mechanization as an experimental form of limb replacement (superior prosthetics, yes?). The only thing I would really question about it is why a fellow in a coma, presumably with no living relatives, would be chosen for such a procedure. For either procedure. Perhaps the presence of a living will dedicating his body to science? It might be weird, but if you'll be going the same place with the 'allegedly dead father' that you did in the original Blood and Metal, it might have been a manipulation from him.

(Admittedly, I don't know the motivation behind something like that. But it might serve as something of a springboard.)

The reason I ask about how long he was comatose is because of something I noticed from somebody else with a similar perk (a character was paralyzed for several years before experimental treatment brought him back). Physical therapy. Fifteen months wouldn't be to the same extent, but there should be some minor acknowledgement about requiring physical therapy to acclimate his muscles again; fifteen months comatose will result in some atrophying. Therapy might well result in a somewhat natural introduction to his jiu jitsu skills, as he uses the exercises he learned from his martial arts training to recover, (and acclimate to his altered physiology).

I have to admit, I was excited when I saw that you were going to go in and re-write BAM, and am definitely looking forward to the results.

The Living Will approach'll work. With the dead father, I was just thinking that he died when he was young. Not that he was needed in the story (and he DIDN'T turn into Alberect/Robotnik in this version of BAM. I'm calling that now!)

Good thinking. I've kinda forgotten that part. I definitely need to shorten that time. I'm thinking about a weak. A month at the most. That'll reduce most if not all of the athrophy, and his Jiu Jitsu can easily help him get out of the kinks. There would probably be another month total for him to get back up to speed.

{I have to admit, I was excited when I saw that you were going to go in and re-write BAM, and am definitely looking forward to the results.}

Well, :) In that case, feel free to get to the web site [link] , and get on the forum, check out the blog, and maybe even help me out with some of the wiki pages. I'll be looking forward to hearing more from you.
